Philosophy & Finds
why we do what we do

The creation of Zen Body stems from a shared belief that there is a continuous circle, which consists of the principles behind the healing arts, the natural sciences, spirituality and our physical world, where all things intermingle.

As the founder of Zen Body, I have designed this website to provide you with a deeper understanding of how we become sick through abuse, neglect and stress and how to heal, emotionally, spiritually and physically. I also hope to reveal interesting information regarding the effect of source energy in our life, by showing the importance of self maintenance.

I am an experienced practitioner of naturopathic health and spiritual counsel and also a perceptive observer of our people and the world around us. I have found through my work, that all things seen and unseen contain an identifying vibratory energy that works like a communicative, healing, or destructive force in our life. From the foods we eat, to the people we meet, I believe all these elements influence our beliefs and our being.

When contacing me for assistance with your concerns, you will find my work to be creative, insightful, analytical, honest and clear. I also provide answers and ideas intended to help you navigate through the complexities in your personal and professional life. I have an unexplainable knack for seeing, feeling and knowing beyond average sensory abilities, due to a neurophysiologic condition known as synesthesia. Simply stated, this enables me to respond to various kinds of stimulus with both unusual and normal perceptions and has proven to be an absolute asset to my clients, patients and friends.

It's no surprise I spent many years of my life concealing what I learned about myself and thinking I might be some kind of freak of nature. I was also quite different than who I was raised to be, because in our home anything outside of doctrine was considered pagan or occult. So even though I knew I was a person who was very spiritually connected, I kept my "perceptive" experiences contained and private. It was during a transitional time in my life that I discovered how incredibly useful all these oddities and interests of mine could be in the healing arts, so I set myself free and began incorporating them in my work.

I was sent on a journey to Ireland, which was influenced by the development of my newest community outreach venture. With my mother as my selected  traveling companion, we not only learned a great deal about our Celtic heritage, but I personally became intrigued by the ancient Druids. Something resonated inside of me as I drew parallels between their practices and my beliefs and it appears my ancestral roots may go further back then I thought. I have comfortably accepted that my unusual abilities may simply be genetically linked and this has become an exciting possibility for me to consider.

With further research I discovered that contrary to their enemies accusations of being drenched in barbarian rituals, the Druids were actually courageous warriors with an uncanny knack for survival. I think their practices were simply misunderstood and feared. Being from a pre-christian era, at least 2 BC, the Druids were originally pagan, but with the emergence of Christianity they became open minded about the concept of monotheism. (More interesting is how Christianity became open to otherworld possibilities, as defined by the story of St. Teresa of Avila.)  In other words the Druids were very intellectual, socially evolving people who were also deeply attuned to the healing power of nature and spirit, as depicted in this you tube video:

It's amazing if you think about it. Druids are ancient people who not only had an understanding that the plants around them contained functional phytoceuticals, they were also early practitioners in what modern science refers to as meta physics and quantum physics. That's impressive. What's really neat is that Druids, Buddhist Monks and East Indian Yogi's, who continue to practice natural healing, appear to be re-emerging in todays world and are gaining popularity. This tells me that "alternative medicine" has proven itself by enduring the test of time.

On that note, my life's preference has been for alternative medicine and it is a need I understand. My interest was sparked at the age of fourteen while walking along the coast of southern California. For some unknown reason I sought solace from seaweed to soothe a jellyfish sting, never understanding my impulse to do so. That experience was actually somewhat of an epiphany that has been a great influence in my life. With the support of the medical doctors who provide my routine checkups and occasional clinical procedures, I have chosen a path of alternative healing and have successfully self treated with minimal pharmaceutical use, since the age of nineteen. I develop paradoxical symptoms to most pharmaceuticals, so had to learn another way to tend to my wellbeing. Although, I do appreciate the importance of continued education and combined care, so I faithfully pursue additional health related academics while building my diversity in human care.

I enjoy helping people discover their greatest potential and believe helping you find answers that enhance your life, guide your healing process, or offer clarity with your concerns is my calling.
